GIRONA - INCREDIBLE Tilt-Shift Film by Pau Garcia Laita

Photographer/Filmmaker Rob Whitworth (check out his awesome video BARCELONA Go!) shared this on Facebook yesterday, it's an amazing tilt-shift film by Pau Garcia Laita called GIRONA. It was shot in and around the Catalan province of Girona, Spain.

On May 2014 the Catalan Tourist Board organized a social media action in which 5 different artists were invited to spend a week through a province of Catalonia shooting with their own style. This is the result of tiltshifting the province of Girona, probably the one that has the most variety of geographical and landscape locations, where I tried to show the different lifestyles people have with a summertime feeling.

Barcelona GO! | Short Film by Rob Whitworth

This short film by Rob Whitworth is awesome! It was shot using only Nikon cameras and lenses.

BARCELONA in Flow-Motion - A fast moving short film.... In few other cities is it possible to walk from spectacular location to spectacular location. I had a fantastic time adventuring around Barcelona's winding streets making this film. A Day in San Diego

These are some old photos I just dug up from a few years ago, they were all shot using my Nikon D5000 and taken from Point Loma in San Diego and might give you a different perspective of the city than one you typically see in photos.

A Look Back . . . Uruguay

Back in September of 2007 I spent about a week in Buenos Aires, Argentina meeting with my friends at 3Dar to discuss future projects. While I was there I wanted to take a trip across the Rio de la Plata to visit the town of Colonia de Sacramento in Uruguay. After a long night hanging out with my new female friends (I ended up traveling with them for a month 3 months after this trip) at an Irish Pub called Kilkenny, I boarded the Buque Bus and headed across the river. Here are a few shots from the trip:

It was an nightly adventure that took me to almost every angle of Los Angeles. It was an exercise in patience. A lesson in light. An understanding of what it is to live amongst each other and to understand the system and order of a city, the seemingly complex organics that make it up and the life form that the city truly is. A visualization of sonder. It was a daily jaunt to watch the arterial freeway systems pump car cells through its body and channel them to the capillaric avenues that are our neighborhoods and homes. It was a chance to break away from the 70mph freeway perspective and to observe the sun slip from view and watch the electric dance of nightfall begin. It was challenging. It was frustrating. Definitely dangerous at times. Sometimes it hurt. I was chased. Yelled at. Warned. But the overall context of things learned, people met, things seen, and places discovered over the past three years shaped who I am today. I didn't always love Los Angeles but I learned to and discovered that this city is much more than temperate weather, palm trees, pretty girls, and beaches; to me the true beauty behind the city lies hidden on the other end of a rusted fire escape to a view no one else has seen. I'm looking forward to the next chapter of my film making career where I will be concentrating on narrative and documentary films. Thanks for watching, reading, and supporting my films. Photographer Spotlight - Jorge Aragon

I've been hanging out in Argentina for about 2 weeks now and even though this is my fifth time here I've been discovering and experiencing a lot of new things that I hadn't in previous trips. Each time I come here I stay for a few weeks to a month. During this particular trip I've been exploring the photography and fashion elements of this amazing city. So far since I've been here I've befriended some amazing photographers, producers and stylists and have had the good fortune of meeting and hanging out with Jorge Aragon. Jorge is a Colombian born, Argentina based photographer that I've been following for quite awhile and have been friends with on Facebook for a year or two. Prior to this trip we had never met in person, but yesterday we were finally able to get together and he's been introducing me to a number of great contacts in the industry here, I hope to repay the gesture next time he's in LA. He and the models have all been so cool and receptive and I really appreciate the kindness and willingness to help me get acquainted with the key players in the Buenos Aires photography and fashion scene. Jorge is a very versatile shooting everything from products to high fashion. I find his work inspiring and he's definitely one of my favorite photographers in Buenos Aires which is why I want to include him in my Photographer Spotlight series.

Cold Day In Uruguay

In September of 2007 I traveled down to South America with two friends of mine to meet a company we had been working with based out of Buenos Aires, Argentina. During that trip my friend Matt and I decided to jump across the Rio de la Plata to Colonia, Uruguay for the day. At 8AM we hopped on El Buque Bus for the hour and half ride across the river where we entered another country. Once we got off the ferry we were supposed to board a tour bus, it's only by dumb luck that we bordered the correct one. Aside from being exhausted due to the fact that I was at bar until 6AM with two Argentinian girls I had met, my Spanish wasn't (still isn't) up to par and at the time Matt's Spanish speaking skills were non-existent. Anyway, we boarded the bus and did a quick little drive through town before exiting the bus for lunch and some free time to roam around the streets for a few hours. As we wandered around I took some of these photos:

Midtown

Midtown New York City is the place to be. The lights, cars, traffic, architecture and people make the city come to life as a living, breathing, organism that never sleeps. Take a trip with this time-lapse production into the city and see the sights and sounds that create this magnificent destination.

For us, this time-lapse production was produced using more than 50,000 still frames, shot over the course of 6 months traveling back and forth from Washington DC to New York City while we shot for clients. Our main goal was to capture the central part of the city in both visuals and audio. The sound effects used in this production were taken from the various locations we shot and were added in to give you the feeling of actually being there.

There were multiple times during this shoot that we were chased off, either by cops or the cold. The subway shots were particularly difficult to get, especially in the wake of the Boston bombings. We were led out and in some cases followed by police officers or MTA officials who seemed intent on getting us for using tripods.
