GIRONA - INCREDIBLE Tilt-Shift Film by Pau Garcia Laita
Photographer/Filmmaker Rob Whitworth (check out his awesome video BARCELONA Go!) shared this on Facebook yesterday, it's an amazing tilt-shift film by Pau Garcia Laita called GIRONA. It was shot in and around the Catalan province of Girona, Spain.
A miniature look to the catalan province of Girona.
Directed by Pau Garcia Laita. https://www.facebook.com/paugarciafreelancefilmmaker
Music: Three by Cameron Ernst.

On May 2014 the Catalan Tourist Board organized a social media action in which 5 different artists were invited to spend a week through a province of Catalonia shooting with their own style. This is the result of tiltshifting the province of Girona, probably the one that has the most variety of geographical and landscape locations, where I tried to show the different lifestyles people have with a summertime feeling.
Locations in order of appearance: Cadaqués, Vall de Núria, Ribes de Freser, Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc, Sa Tuna, La Garrotxa, Banyoles, Besalú, Castellfollit de la Roca, Camprodon, Ripoll, Portbou, Estartit, Girona, Puigcerdà, La Cerdanya, La Molina, Cadaqués, Port Lligat, Monestir de Sant Pere de Rodes, El Port de la Selva, La Selva de Mar, Figueres, Sant Antoni de Calonge, Tamariu, Vall de Núria, Palamós, Tossa de Mar, Illes Medes. Barcelona GO! | Short Film by Rob Whitworth
This short film by Rob Whitworth is awesome! It was shot using only Nikon cameras and lenses.
BARCELONA in Flow-Motion - A fast moving short film.... In few other cities is it possible to walk from spectacular location to spectacular location. I had a fantastic time adventuring around Barcelona's winding streets making this film. Special thanks to Ferran Macià Edo and his colleagues from Agència Catalana de Turisme (Catalan Tourism Board) for helping me get access to shoot at numerous stunning locations including: Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya Gran Teater del Liceu Sagrada Familia Museu D'Historia De Barcelona Palau de la Música Santa Maria del Pi And an extra special thanks to Marta Garriga Bardalet for patiently modelling during an uncharacteristically cold and rainy day.

Incredible Time Lapse by Joel Schat
This is definitely one of the best time-lapse videos I've ever seen. Joel Schat does an amazing job at capturing the beauty of nature that is so often overlooked by today's fast paced living. None of the shots he took are quick and easy, they all take time and that time forces one to sit back and relax while enjoying something that's all around us, yet seldom appreciated. It's seeing videos and photography like this that continue to inspire me to get out and see as much of the world as possible. Amazing job Joel and Roadtrippers.com!
From the Archives - Alyssa Smith
Alyssa Smith and I met last summer on a shoot we were doing for Arsenic Magazine. We got together a few months later at her place in Los Angeles and shot some stuff for fun, here's one of the images from that day in September 2013.

Story Behind the World's Most Viewed Image
The image titled "Bliss" is one of the most viewed images in the world since it was chosen to be the default wallpaper when Microsoft launched Windows XP. This is the cool story behind the photo and Charles O'Rear, the photographer who captured the image.

City Lights by Colin Rich
I was on Facebook the other day and saw my friend Mike post this time lapse video done by photographer Colin Rich. I watched this and was pretty blow away, check it out:
For more behind the scenes and updates on my work, you can follow me here: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/colinrich1 Instagram: http://instagram.com/heyitsmecolin (@heyitsmecolin) Web site: www.deer-dog.com 'City Lights' is the final chapter from my "Trilogy of Light" series that began a couple years ago with 'LA Light' and then followed up with 'Nightfall'. It was an nightly adventure that took me to almost every angle of Los Angeles. It was an exercise in patience. A lesson in light. An understanding of what it is to live amongst each other and to understand the system and order of a city, the seemingly complex organics that make it up and the life form that the city truly is. A visualization of sonder. It was a daily jaunt to watch the arterial freeway systems pump car cells through its body and channel them to the capillaric avenues that are our neighborhoods and homes. It was a chance to break away from the 70mph freeway perspective and to observe the sun slip from view and watch the electric dance of nightfall begin. It was challenging. It was frustrating. Definitely dangerous at times. Sometimes it hurt. I was chased. Yelled at. Warned. But the overall context of things learned, people met, things seen, and places discovered over the past three years shaped who I am today. I didn't always love Los Angeles but I learned to and discovered that this city is much more than temperate weather, palm trees, pretty girls, and beaches; to me the true beauty behind the city lies hidden on the other end of a rusted fire escape to a view no one else has seen. I'm looking forward to the next chapter of my film making career where I will be concentrating on narrative and documentary films. Thanks for watching, reading, and supporting my films. Cheers, Colin I will be running a limited series of high quality Kodak Endura VC metallic prints based on each series of shots. Existential Bummer - Inspiring Us To Live Life To The Fullest
This video will possibly inspire you, make you tear up, and convince you to go out and start living life to the fullest -- all in three minutes.
For the last few months, filmmaker Jason Silva has been impressing us with his philosophical YouTube series, "Shots of Awe." This installment, called "Existential Bummer," is no exception.
In it, Silva asks: How should we react to the fact that everything we love will eventually come to an end?
A Deeper Kind of Sex
Back in August of this year I was up in Venice Beach working on a project with Arsenic Magazine which they've titled "A Deeper Kind of Sex." I was shooting stills for the project while Director/Writer Scott Burns (Bourne Ultimatum, Contagion, The Informant) directed the video. The video features models Tatiana Dietemen, Alyssa Smith, and Shay Maria.
From the original post on the Arsenic Magazine site:
The objectification of women: can't live with it, and can't sell billions of dollars of material items without it. It has warped a generation of men in all sorts of diabolical ways and has turned young women against food, each other and themselves. And yet here we are, confronted daily with our own appetites for youth and beauty and sex with access to an infinite internet receding into the darkest and most fascinating places. Sam Shepherd once said,
"In the middle of a contradiction, that's where you want to be."
This is where these images find all of us. - Scott Z. Burns
Finding Vivian Maier
This is a film that I've been wanting to see since Vivian Maier's collection of work was first discovered. It's film is premiering at DOC NYC on November 17 and I'm hoping it'll make it's way out to the west coast shortly after since I don't think I'll be in New York this year. If you haven't heard of Vivian Maier then I strongly encourage you to watch the trailer.
A mysterious nanny, who secretly took over 100,000 photographs that were hidden in storage lockers and discovered decades later, is now considered among the 20th century’s greatest photographers. Maier’s strange and riveting life and art are revealed through never before seen photographs, films, and interviews with dozens who thought they knew her.
The Day Wonderland Stood Still
This is a beautiful time lapse video by Bruce Berry that uses a fairly simple technique to remove all the cars and people. I first saw this on the F-Stoppers site and now it's a Vimeo Staff Pick, definitely worth sharing.
This time-lapse was inspired by the “Empty America Series” by Ross Ching and the Nibiran jungle scene in Star Trek Into Darkness. When I first saw the scene in Star Trek, it made me wonder how color infrared would look if we could see it with our own eyes, unaided by IR filters. After seeing the movie and watching Ross’s series I thought about how a totally empty city (such as Philadelphia) would look in Kodak EIR style infrared. Hope you all enjoy and thanks for viewing! Addition Info: All scenes were shot around Philadelphia using my full-spectrum digital camera and a yellow filter. A full spectrum camera is a camera that has had it's IR blocking filter removed, allowing the camera to see into the infrared. The yellow filter blocks all visible light up to yellow and allows infrared to pass through. The first scene and time-lapse title was prompted by an infrared series that I’ve been shooting over the years called “Wonderland”. Photographer Spotlight - Yulia Gorodinski
Photographer Spotlight - 08.29.2013
Yesterday I was chatting with an Israel based photographer I've been following for awhile named Yulia Gorodinski. I think I first stumbled upon her work while I was browsing through photographers on Behance.net a few years ago. I was instantly a fan, not only because her photos are awesome, but because the main body of her work consists of self-portraits which she has managed to capture beautifully and creatively. I think it takes a true talent to be both the model and photographer and that talent is very apparent in her photographs. Yulia's work has appeared on the American Apparel site, issues of New York Art Magazine and Digital Camera Magazine, as well as exhibits in England and Spain. Check out this great interview with her on Dazed Digital to get a better idea of her background, inspirations and approach.
I'm looking forward to meeting her in person and collaborating with her sometime in the not so distant future either here in California or in Israel.

My Model Wish List - Olivia Wilde
Olivia Wilde . . . is HOT! Whether you're a guy or girl, photographer or not, I think everyone would want to take pictures of Olivia, which gives her all the more reason to be on My Model Wish List . I know I had seen her before she appeared on House, M.D. but it wasn't until she was on the show that I really began to take notice. She's graced the pages of GQ, Maxim, Cosmo, Glamour and many other publications. I don't really think any of the photographers she's worked with (that I have seen) have done her justice, she actually looks better in all the random natural snapshots I've seen of her. I think the photographers she's shot with have fallen back on bad habits of over editing instead of just capturing her natural good looks. I hope I'll somehow get a chance to shoot with her, even if that were to happen, she would still remain on My Model Wish List.
